The Holy Heretics drop a special episode to discuss the inauguration of Trump. In this raw and unedited special episode, Scott and Jon compare and contrast the Jesus message with the Evangelical Church as it relates to Trump. They also discuss how the Evangelical Church helped Trump win the Presidency even though he campaigned on a platform of exclusion, bigotry, racism, and fear (among other things) which clearly runs counter to the Jesus message. Even still, Jon and Scott believe that there's hope for the future and that hope is found in the Divinity that lies within us all.

Episode 1 features one of the Holy Heretics, Scott, telling his story of growing up in the South and the Evangelical Church. With humor, honesty, and a bit of sarcasm, Scott reflects on the evangelical values that were instilled in him at a very young age. Scott also discusses how growing up in such a Jesus-charged environment set the stage for an inner desire (or "calling") to be in evangelical pastoral ministry, which he later left.
